New Haven Cash Register Company Launches New Brand Initiative Reflecting Expanded Business Focus and Simplifies Its Name to ''NHCR''

HAMDEN, CT, June 26, 2013- New Haven Cash Register Company, Inc., a leading reseller of point of sale and related security solutions, today unveiled its new corporate brand and strategy. Effective immediately, the simplified name "NHCR" will be the new brand identification for the Company. The brand initiative reflects NHCR’s full range of wired and tablet-based point of sale (POS) systems, credit card and gift card processing, and security solutions that transcend traditional cash register products.

The Company will continue to be headquartered in Hamden, CT and will be led by chief executive officer Arthur Rosenbaum. NHCR has been a New Haven County employer for over 60 years.

Commenting on the new corporate brand, Mr. Rosenbaum said, "Our Company has forged an enviable reputation as a leader in providing the very best cash register solutions and support in our target markets for over six decades. However, NHCR provides a much broader spectrum of solutions than those which we’ve been traditionally known for and our continued business growth is being fueled by a number of these new initiatives. As the marketplace fully evolves from traditional cash register solutions, we are now pursuing expanded opportunities for fully integrated, point of sale solutions with secure credit card processing, gift cards, network security and surveillance systems. Fully leveraging our track record, technological resources and our highly trained staff, our simplified name effectively communicates this strategy and our intention to aggressively pursue these opportunities."

Effective immediately, all New Haven Cash Register Company business activity will be conducted under the new brand name, NHCR. The rebranding initiative also features the launch of a new corporate logo, online presence and marketing material. Existing websites and email addresses will automatically redirect to the new www.nhcrct.com domain.

NHCR director of marketing Bill Pankracij added, "We chose our new brand and simplified name because it better defines our new business focus and strategy. By simplifying our corporate name, we are making it clear that our strategic positioning and value proposition have also evolved to take advantage of new opportunities in the restaurant and retail industries."

New Haven Cash Register Company's Bill Pankracij Completes RSPA PCIwise Certificate Program

June 7, 2013-New Haven Cash Register Company, Inc., a leading reseller of point of sale (POS) and related security solutions, today announced that Marketing Manager Bill Pankracij has completed the Retail Solutions Providers Association (RSPA) PCIwise Certificate Program for Technology Providers. The program was developed by the RSPA to ensure that association members have a complete understanding of best practices related to Payment Card Industry (PCI) data security practices.

To obtain the PCIwise certification, a candidate must demonstrate basic knowledge in many areas of the payment processing ecosystem, including:
•PCI security regulations
•PCI compliant systems technology and topology
•Installing a PCI compliant POS/payment processing system & environment
•Administering, maintaining and supporting a PCI compliant POS system & environment

The increase of security breaches both in frequency and severity has led to the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard or PCI DSS. PCI DSS is a set of requirements designed to ensure that all companies that process, store or transmit credit card information maintain a secure environment.

PCIwise certification offers assurances to the retail and restaurant communities, including those who use POS products and related professional services that they are working with a company that is knowledgeable and up-to-date with current security practices.

“With the rapid escalation of new and more advanced malware and breach attacks, it’s important that companies remain up-to-date on the latest threats as well as regulatory compliance mandates to ensure secure environments,” said Arthur Rosenbaum, CEO of New Haven Cash Register Company. “Our understanding of PCI-related rules and regulations allows us to provide additional value to our customers as well as serving as a trusted advisor for all their POS, credit card processing, loyalty program and related needs.”

Food Network Cupcake Wars Winner, The Sugar Bakery, Selects New Haven Cash Register Company to Sweeten Their Sales

October 18, 2012- New Haven Cash Register Company, a leading provider of innovative, cost-effective and personalized point-of-sale (POS) systems for the restaurant and retail industries, has announced that The Sugar Bakery, a 2010 winner on Food Network’s Cupcake Wars television program, has selected the NCC Reflection system for their POS solution.

The landmark bakery chose the Reflection point of sale system from New Haven Cash Register for its combination of feature-rich and functional software; easy to use and elegant graphical touch screen interface; an embedded operating system which eliminates the potential for viruses, malware and spyware threats and its extremely attractive cost of ownership.

The Sugar Bakery is also leveraging the system’s “cloud” based technology to store and view end-of-day reports as well as the integrated credit and gift card processing that eliminates the need for a stand alone credit card terminal and reduces the manual paperwork needed for selling and redeeming gift certificates. The fast and secure credit- and gift-card processing features dramatically reduce the customer’s time in line by nearly 80%. In the near future, The Sugar Bakery will also be one of the first bakeries in CT to incorporate a state of the art loyalty program.

Arthur Rosenbaum, President of New Haven Cash Register Company, said, "We are thrilled and honored to have a leading Connecticut company like The Sugar Bakery provide us with the opportunity to supply them with the very latest in point of sale technology to fuel their continued growth. We certainly look forward to a long, successful relationship and take great pride in being able to share in their continued success.”

"From our perspective, The Sugar Bakery
stands for excellence and that’s exactly what we found in the New Haven Cash Register team,” added The Sugar Bakery co-owner Brenda DePonte. “Their service and support staff is terrific and the Reflection POS system we chose is very easy to use. Our staff was up and running with the system within minutes of training and we are now realizing improved operational efficiencies, pricing accuracy, and a better customer experience. I am also saving 2 hours per day on our end of day reconciliation, which is a real bonus.”
